Success!

Last night was amazing! We left for the game at 5pm took the Metro from Friendship Heights and were in the stadium by 6pm. Even with all the people it was a totally easy trip. Once you step out of the metro you are already at the stadium.

I thought the stadium could not have been built better. Everything from the food to the bars to the open seating was just spectacular. I was blown away by the end result. It was definitely better than anything I had imagined. It was clear that no corners were cut and they thought about every detail. The views of the city and the monuments from the stadium were outstanding.

Everything about the new stadium epitomized the greatness of the District. The views, the food, the atmosphere captured what has been missing from DC. I think this stadium will truly breath new life into that area of DC as well as the overall perception of the city.

Last Minute Buzz

This past week I have heard a lot of people throwing around their opinions about Opening Day. What time is the best time to leave for the game? What is the best route to the game? What time are the kids going to get to bed? Was it worth it to pay for parking passes? In general I think people are excited for the season to begin but they will not let the judgments pass. We have finally reached the climax of the hype about the new stadium, the pros and cons are all finally going to be ready for us.

Opening Day this year feels to me more like Judgment Day. In general, i think people seem to be a little skeptical about the whole operation, from parking, to metro, to stadium construction, to safety, the list could go on. I am looking forward to posting about people's impressions and experiences from Sunday night.

Metro Prepares for Opening Day

Metro is busy preparing for Opening Day, March 30th. I am beginning to feel like this might be the best way to get to and from the New Stadium. In a week we will know how the first trip goes......

Blue Parking?!

We got our season parking pass today and i have to say that i am not too happy about it. We have been season ticket holders since the beginning, paid for every game and for all the parking passes. So when the time came for us to receive our parking assignment i expected to get a much better spot than in the Blue zone.

Are other people happy or upset with their parking passes? I'd be curious to know how many people reached out to their friends in the organization to gain better parking passes.

Word to the Wise

This article from the Washington Times speaks about the anticipated influx of crime around the new stadium. If you plan on parking in the assigned parking lots I would imagine the lots will be patrolled by police. If you try and park in a nearby neighborhood you run the risk of neighborhood crimes. Just another thing to think about when making your decision about how to get to and from the stadium.
